Itinerary :

DAY 01 (BHUBANESHWAR)

Arrive Bhubanswar. transfer to the hotel. Proceed for sightseeing tour of the city that includes the ancient temples of Bhubaneswar that dates back to 7th to 11th Century A D . and also visit the 02nd century B:C jain monk Caves at the twin hills of khandagiri and Udaygiri,tribal museum etc.Overnight at Bhubaneswar


DAY 02(BALIGUDA)

Bhubaneswar-Baliguda-Today after breakfast drive to Baliguda enroute visit the weavers village at  Itamati and other such orissan Villages . O/n Baliguda (5 hour drive +visit)



DAY 03(RAYAGADA)

Baliguda- TumudiBandh-Kotagarh-Rayagada ( This must be a Tuesday)

After breakfast  visit some typical villages inhabitated by the Kondh Tribals communities .The Kondhs tribals have their unique culture and traditions .Then proceed to Rayagada enroute visiting the weekly tribal market at Kotagarh and some interesting tribal villages.O/n Rayagada 



DAY 04(SEMILIGUDA)

Rayagada-Chatikona- Semiliguda-( This must be a Wednesday)
After breakfast in the hotel ,morning drive to Chatikona to visit the interesting tribal market of Dongria Kondh tribes who are living in in the Niyamgiri hills. The dongria kondha belong to the Kondha community . The dongria kondhs women are very fond of ornaments.Among the dongria kondhs, the women beautify themselves with hair pins, ear rings, nose rings, and head necklaces.Wristlets and ear rings are used by the males of the Dongria kondh communities. The males too , like to grow long hair and tie this into a knot at their nape in a traditional fashion.You can watch & enjoy the Dongria kondhs men and women coming down from their mountains with different kinds of fruits and animals to the weekly market. In this interesting weekly tribal market they mix with other communities like Doms,Desias & barter is an interesting event to watch. Later drive on to Similiguda or Jeypore enroute visiting interesting tribal villages of Desia kondh , paraja & Mali tribes .Overnight at Semiliguda (4/5 hour drive +visit)




DAY 05(SEMILIGUDA)

Semiliguda-Anukodelli(Anukodelli Market )-Semiliguda( This must be a Thursday)
Morning drive to Anukadoli area and visit is the market of Bondas,Godba tribes. The  Bondos live in the remote hills and keep themselves isolated.They grow rice by shifting cultivation and keep domesticated cows and goats.They can only be seen when they come to trade at the local market, and we must time our visit to coincide with the weekly market day on Thursday. The Bonda women are noticeable by their bead necklaces,striking brass and silver necklets and their shaved heads decorated with plaits of Palmyra leaves. You will also visit some of the tribal villages of Gadaba tribes. Gadabas women are fond of wearing a number of ornaments to decorate their bodies.The ornaments are generally made out brass or alluminium .They use hairpins in their hair,generally it is found that the elderly married women wear a peculiar type of ear ring which is made out of silver ,brass or alluminium.Besides they use ornaments in their nose and finger.They use bangles which are made of grass.No tatoo marks are done among the Gadabas . The Gadabas are very fond of dance and music. Among all the tribes they are very famous for their "dhemsa" dance.The dance is performed by women wearing their famous karenga saree.The men folk play the musical instruments while the women dance in semi circle with step three and four which gradually change to eight. The body is often bent forward, showing skillful moves on the heels.Afternoon drive back to hotel .Overnight at Hotel (4/5 hour drive +visit)



DAY 06(SEMILIGUDA)

Similiguda-Kunduli-Similiguda: After breakfast, proceed to witness the biggest tribal weekly market of Sanaparoja & Mali tribes in Kunduli 30 km away . It is a very colorful market. Later visit some interesting tribal villages & also visit the tribal museum & the Jagannath temple at Koraput .Visiting the Jagannath temple ( where Non Hindus are allowed ) will offer an opportunity know about the unique jagannath cult of Orissa (4/5 hours drive +visit )



DAY 07(SEMILIGUDA)

Excursion to Gupteswar .Early morning proceed  to Gupteswar Cave and visit the place of worship of the hidden Shiva Lingam inside the cave . Trek/ walk inside the forest ,along the river side and enjy the natural beauty of the landscape .



DAY 08(BHABANIPATNA)

Similiguda-Kotpad-Bhabanipatna:Morning ,after having your breakfast drive to Kotpad weavers village. Spend sometime with the weavers to learn about their art of weaving & then drive to Bhabanipatna. enroute visiting many interesting tribal Villages .Arrive Bhabanipatna which is a small town of western Orissa . Evening you will get enough time to explore this town by walking .O/n Bhabanipatna 5/6 Hours + visit



DAY 09(SAMBALPUR)

Bhabanipatna-Barpalli-Sambalpur:After breakfast drive to Sonepur enroute vistiing the weavers village & heritage village of Barpali.. Barpali is one of the best silk and cotton weaving villages in Orissa and the master weavers are best known for creating tassar silk fabrics. Spend time with some of the senior weavers, who will speak you about tassar and also about the ikat technique. The village is one of the biggest weaving centres of Orissa and you will discover and feel the reality of old weavers here. The western Orissa is an interesting part of eastern India which is also famous for its unique Dance & Music & Culture .Drive to sambalpur enroute visiting some typical Western Orissa village and savour the hospitality of the local people. You can enjoy the unique sambalpuri dance (optional). O/n Sambalpur (4/5 hours drive + visit )



DAY 10(DHENKANAL)

Sambalpur-Dhenkanal:If you are interested, you can visit the Hirakud Damwhich is known to be the longest dam of the world . .Then drive to Dhenkanal enroute visiting other such villages .late afternoon you have an option to visit the the saffron clad Mahima Babas ashram at joronda. Learn about their philosophy & enrich your knowledge to about this unique cult.Mahima Dharma originated in Orissa in the beginning of nineteenth century. Mahima Gosain (Mahima Swami) is the founder of this new Dharma. He preached his teachings by oral instruction. But a considerable knowledge of his teachings is handed down to us by the writings of Bhima Bhoi, one of his very eminent disciples .Then driv on to Bhubaneswar.O/n Dhenkanal (7 hrs driving +visit )

 



DAY 11(PURI)

Dhenkanal-Konark-Puri:Drive to Konark enroute visiting Dhauli Peace pagoda , 64 yogini shrines at Hirapur , Pipili appliqué village etc.Afternoon visit the temple Chariot of the Sun God, built by King Langula Narasimha Deva in the 13th century AD in the golden era of Orissa art. Evening relaxe on the beach .

O/n Puri ( 4 hours drive +Visit )



DAY 12(PURI)

Puri –Satapada –Puri :Morning after breakfast visit of Lord

jagannath temple, & then excursion to Satapada (chilka lakethe largest brackish water lake in Asia) .Boat ride into the lake and enjoy the beauty of lake. Late afternoon also spend time visiting art and craft villages .If you are interested we can also organize a traditional orissi or Gotipua dance . These traditional dance styles were associated with the temple cult of Orissa.(2 hours drive + Visit )



DAY 13(BHUBANESWAR)

Puri-Bhubaneswar:Drive back to Bhubaneswar enroute visiting the artisan village at Raghurajpur ( Heritage villge) . You will pleased to meet the local people who are all artistes . The patachitras of Orissa are icon paintings that include the wall paintings,manuscript painting, palmleaf etching, and painting on cloth, both cotton and silk. Chitrakar painters in and around Puri practice this living art form. The village of Raghurajpur is where many chitrakars live in an area dedicated to them called Chitrakar Sahe. This art of painting on cloth can be traced back to the establishment of the shrine of Lord Jagannath at Puri in Orissa. Before checking in to your hotel in Bhubaneswar , you can also visit the Dhauli peace pagoda,64 yogini shrines at Hirapur o/n Bhubaneswar 


DAY 14(HOME)

 Bhubaneswar-Home:After breakfast free for individual activities / shopping and then transfer to Airport well in time to board flight for onward destination.
