Bonda tribes of Orissa

The Bonda tribe, one of the most ancient and important tribes, lives in the hilly regions of Malkangiri. Known for their distinct attire and customs, the Bondas are divided into two groups: the Upper Bondas and the Lower Bondas. They practice shifting cultivation and have a matriarchal society. The Bonda women are easily recognizable by their traditional silver and aluminum ornaments.
